    Has anyone drilled holes in there backing plates for the relief of mud????

    I am just tired of mud allways packed in my drum???/

    I've not drilled them, but from what I've seen of the mud up here (mostly clay) I can't believe that holes would help much. Maybe you could reduce the diameter of the whole plate so that centrifugal force could clear some of it out. Or just run commando, without any plate to speak of. Might be worth a try anyhow...

    I have done this. I cut one on the top the size of a garden hose and one on the bottom. I just stick the hose in the top for 10 mins after each weekend of wheeling.
