25th Anniversary of ‘Chuck's Run’

This fall will be the 25th running of Chuck Howard’s annual fall run, aka ‘Chuck’s Run’. Chuck would like to invite all those that have attended in the past to come out and celebrate this 25th Anniversary of 'Chuck’s Run’.

The event got its start in 1986 at a private farm outside of River Falls, WI. Chuck was hunting with family and walking in and around the hills and ravines when he mentioned to Marvin that he thought it would be fun to drive up the hills. Marvin said it could not be done. Later that year, Chuck invited a few friends to give it a try and “Chuck’s Run” was born. There were about 10 rigs there for the first run. It has been an annual event ever since.

Chuck bought his first wheeler back in 1975, mainly just to go hunting and plow a little snow in the winter. He said, “It took a couple of years before I figured out I liked driving off road more then hunting”. He joined the Go4’s in 1983 and the TrailRiders in 1998 and has no plans of slowing down now. Chuck has been on as many trail-rides as anyone I know.

Although it is rumored Chuck was born in 1941 to honor the year the Jeep was invented, alas this is not true. He is the type of guy that is a blast to trail ride with, not only is he fun to watch with the crazy lines he picks, but he will always stop and help you.

Chuck’s Run is an Off Road Vehicle (ORV) trail riding event. The trail’s difficulty ranges from stock 4x4s to custom buggies. If you have never been on a trail ride, there are plenty of fun trails to try and great trail guides to show you the way. There are many levels of obstacles but the trails are tight and build for a jeep sized 4-wheel drive. Camping is in a basic open field with a single Satellite toilet. Cost is $40, includes "everything".

If you would like to attend this event, you’ll have to talk to Chuck. He does not want directions posted and is protective of the landowners. ‘Chuck’s Run’ is held during the last weekend of September. If you would like to contact Chuck, talk to your 4wd club’s older members or keep an eye out on this board for a new thread in the trails section.
