    My NTD 2012 Recap.

I got to the park in just enough time to catch the tail end of the workers meeting, then it was time to load up and go to work. All the workers headed back down the trail and through the down town part of Gilbert, where we then cut over into the Virginia Expansion site.

After cutting trail till about 1:00 we did a little playing around on a dried up river bed and headed back over to the park for a lunch that was put on by the MN4WDA. We ordered to much food, everyone ate seconds and thirds, We fed the park staff, and we were able to flag down some people in the park for a free meal and spread the word of how we gain trails in the state through active volunteer work from the ORV community.

Turn out was not as good as last year I would say 20-30 rigs, maybe 40ish plus or minus workers, with a strong turn out from the DOA guys, Considering the lack of excitement that was drummed up I suppose things went as good as could be expected.

Post lunch we did a little bit of playing on a trail called 1% and then we decided to cut a new trail in the park by what I believe is the E3 marker, the trail is to the left of lower money talks for those familiar with the park. The consensus seemed it should be called "Dumb and Dumber" as, well, take a look you'll understand.

All in all I would say it was another successful National Trails Day weekend.

Had fun, broke my truck, survived to wheel another day.
